After leaving Abu Dhabi Hussain al Nowais schooled in Qatar. He later moved back to Abu Dhabi after His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan took over power together with his family. During this time, other families also returned to Abu Dhabi.
Hussain al Nowais was able to complete his high school education in Abu Dhabi. Hussain al Nowais studied Business Administration in the US after completing his high school education. He joined the family business after his studies in the US were completed. The family business started as a trading organization and it was started by Hussain al Nowais’ grandfather.
He played a key role in the functions of the business especially in the improvement of manufacturing and the distribution of the family trading company goods. Before Hussain al Nowais started any partnerships, he was first an agent to the companies. Hussain al Nowais got a huge opportunity after getting a contract to supply electrical equipment to one of the government departments.
Hussain al Nowais started acquiring failing companies with the skills he acquired as a businessman. Under his management the failing companies were able to make a profit and grow. Failing food businesses started making a profit after restructuring was conducted by Hussain al Nowais. The reason he ventured into the food business was because they were recession-proof industries.
His method of turning failing businesses around included putting in place a qualified management team as well as the infrastructure of a business. He also improved the IT systems of the businesses and this contributed to the success of the businesses. Through new ideas, the team was able to do a lot of hard work and they were able to turn around the failing businesses into successful and profitable businesses.
It also took a lot of dedication and commitment to see results on the businesses that they were working on. As time went by, Hussain al Nowais established a manufacturing food company which had many employees. He made several proposals on the improvement of UAE business practices when it came to investment opportunities in trading.
It is challenging to turn a failing company around but Hussain al Nowais enjoys this challenge. Through working in the UAE, he interacts with different nationalities this gives him a better appreciation of the cultures that are around. He likes to spend time with his family when he has spare time.
There is a huge library in his house because Hussain al Nowais likes to read a lot. One of his favourite things to do is to travel and relax. Hussain al Nowais likes to challenge his children to keep growing in the activities that they do.
